With your choice of Underfloor heating, you can always enjoy nice warm feet and do you have no large radiators hang on the wall. Nothing but advantages! But how do you prevent a Rug from blocking the heat from your Underfloor heating? And which rugs are suitable for underfloor heating?
Heat and insulation performance
One of the main advantages of a Rug is that it provides warmth and comfort in your interior. Rugs work insulating and retain warm air. Rugs that are unsuitable for Underfloor heating retain heat for too long, preventing warm air from circulating properly throughout the room.
It is therefore important to choose a Rug that allows the heat from the Underfloor heating to pass through properly. A heat-permeable Rug and Underfloor heating complement each other and give you warm feet and comfort during the cold winter months.
Thermal conductivity
What determines whether a Rug is suitable for Underfloor heating or not? That is the thermal resistance. This number indicates how much heat the Rug lets through and is expressed in m² k / W.
If this number is below the limit of 0.17 m² k / W lies, it lets Rug lets heat through well. The lower this number, the better the Rug will let heat pass through into your space.
On pvc, wood, or tiles
You may be wondering whether it matters what is underneath your Underfloor heating. It doesn't have to. Whether you pvc, a wooden floor, or tiles have, a heat-conductive Rug works on all three.
What matters is the heat transfer resistance of the Rug itself, and you can find it for each Rug on the product page.
If you stay under 0,17 m² K/W, the heat will come through, regardless of your subfloor. That way, you keep your warm feet and your Rug, without having to choose.
