Respectfully renewed

The building, originally constructed in 1875 by the Belgian architect Pieter Joseph Taeymans as a summer house for his family, has a pronounced historic character. When the new owners took over, they chose a careful modernization that starts from respect for the existing. Authentic elements were preserved as much as possible and complemented with contemporary interventions that increase living comfort without detracting from the original atmosphere.

Within this approach, a carpet from the collection of mixed natural materials was chosen. The carpet forms a natural complement to the interior and fits seamlessly with both the historical context and the everyday use of the home. The natural textures bring warmth and softness to the space and strengthen the balance between heritage and contemporary living.

In this way, the carpet contributes to a restrained and cohesive living environment, where past and present meet in a calm, thoughtful manner.
