Your dog or cat decides to leave a surprise on your new rug. Nice is different, but how do you get stool stains out of your carpet?

There is already 1 golden rule for combating faeces on your carpet:be quick ! This prevents the faeces from getting into the fibers of the carpet, causing a stain. It is therefore very important to react immediately if the stool is only just on the carpet .

Step 1 Scrape and Remove

It is best to wear disposable gloves for this job so that your hands are protected against the faeces. Try to remove as much stool as possible with this .

Then take a scraper or flat object and scrape the faeces off the carpet . Make sure you've got most of it with you before moving on to the next step.

Step 2 Lukewarm water with shampoo

Take a cloth and wet it with lukewarm water . Add a few drops of shampoo to this. Gently dab your cloth over the spot where the stool was. Be careful:don't rub the stain with your cloth, just dab it . Rubbing will only make the stain bigger. Continue to dab for 1 minute until the stain is completely gone.

Step 3 Let it dry for a while

To finish, take a dry cloth and remove any remaining moisture. Let your carpet dry for a while and your carpet will be stain-free again.

Step 4 Fighting odor

If the stool has left an odor , you can sprinkle some soda over it . The soda will neutralize the odor on the carpet. Leave the soda for a few hours and then vacuum it up with the vacuum cleaner.
