After a pleasant evening you notice that there is some candle wax on your carpet. Do not panic. If you follow the following steps, your carpet will be clean again in no time.
There is already 1 golden rule when it comes to removing candle wax on your carpet:be quick ! This prevents the candle wax from getting stuck in the fibers of the carpet. It is therefore very important to react immediately if the candle wax has only been on the carpet for a short time .
Step 1:Iron with cloth
Take a cloth or paper bag (not plastic!) and place it over the candle wax. Take your iron and set it on a warm setting. Make sure you don't heat up the iron for too long or you'll melt through the cloth and rug.
Slowly run the iron over the cloth where the candle wax is . This ensures that the wax melts and is absorbed by the cloth or bag. Don't keep rubbing the iron in one place for too long, or you risk the cloth catching fire.
Step 2:Lukewarm water with vinegar and shampoo
After ironing, proceed to the next step . Take a cloth with lukewarm water and add a dash of vinegar and possibly some shampoo . Gently dab the stain until it is completely gone.
Be careful:do not rub the stains with your cloth , but just dab . Rubbing will only make the stain bigger. Continue to dab for 1 minute until the stain is completely gone.
Step 3:Let it dry for a while
To finish, take a dry cloth and blot away any remaining moisture. Let your rug dry for a while and your carpet is spot-free again.
