When painting your walls, splashes of paint end up on your carpet. Do not panic. If you follow the following steps, your carpet will be clean again in no time.

There already exists 1 golden rule for removing paint stains on your carpet: be very quick † This prevents the paint stain from drying and getting into the fibers of the carpet, causing a stain. It is very important to react immediately when the liquid is only just on the rug

We make a distinction between acrylic paint (primer or bottom coat), latex paint (wall paint) and lacquer paint (protective layer for wood).

Acrylic paint (primer)

Step 1: Dab with acetone

take a cloth and wet it with a splash of acetoneGently dab your cloth over the acrylic paint. Be careful: don't rub the paint with your cloth, but dab it gently † Rubbing will only make the stain bigger. Continue to dab for 1 minute until the paint stain is gone.

Step 2: Let it dry for a while

To finish, take a dry cloth and blot away any remaining moisture. Let your rug dry for a while and your carpet is spot-free again.

Step 2: Lukewarm water with shampoo

do you take cloth and make it wet with lukewarm water † To this you add a number of drops of shampooto. Dab over the paint stains again until they are gone.
